Question about stepside fender braces

I'm unclear on which fender braces should be present on a '70 stepside. In the pictures I borrowed from this post, I saw it mentioned somewhere that the threaded rod type are only used in '67, but I have them on my '70 (left side picture, two rods on right side of pic).

I do not have the two braces that run from the top of the fender to the edge of the fender well, and I don't see them mentioned in any of the parts vendors diagrams, or in any Google searches. In fact, the picture on the right is the ONLY image I ran across that shows these two braces?

I put this post up in the For Sale/WTB forum, but I'm looking for the two of the rear fender supports (the short ones, from the bed box to the fender).

Re: Question about stepside fender braces

That thread was very helpful. It's interesting that none of the vendors I can find (LMC, Brothers, AMD, Classic Parts, etc) carry the upper two braces that run from the mounting tabs on the fender to the bed walls. LMC has the braces that run from the frame to the fender just behind the step, and the short one that runs from the fender to the bed wall.

LMC usually has pretty good diagrams, but they don't show those upper two either.

I was thinking the previous owner might have bought a 55-59 brace kit (which is easy to find) to use the short brace. Turns out I actually have all four, and they really make that fender stiff when they're all installed.

Re: Question about stepside fender braces

Tell you what, they SERIOUSLY stiffen up the fenders. There's a couple comments about making your own out of some bar stock and welding or forming tabs on them. My welding skills are non-existent, so I was quite happy that the braces I had were the correct ones.
