Re: Leaf my truck alone!

Hey guys, me again with another question.
So I ordered the guards from LMC, put it on, screwed and bolted it all back on only to have a huge gap between the cowl and the windshield.
I just removed it again to search the internet for instructions.
Came up empty so I searched here.
Looks like everyone seems to have no troubles.
I have the parts, it's off, I'd like to see this work.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
There was only one place with shims. Put them back in place.
The cowl didnt fit so well with the body lines in the first place. But it did not have that huge gap by the windshield. I'll try again. If it dont fit, I'll take pictures.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Don't sweat it, I think that gap is normal

By the way what mirror do you have on your door in the photo?
Does not look stock and I suspect it is far more functional?

Re: Leaf my truck alone!

Firedemon, my vent never moved a lot of air, but didn't notice any drop in flow after installing the guard. I think I got mine from brothers, could be the same hole size and pattern as LMC?

It was on the truck when I bought it and I know it isn't stock but the guy I bought it from has passed away. He was a great friend but I never thought to ask him about the mirrors.

Re: Leaf my truck alone!

Thanks for responding - not a big deal. It caught my eye.
The truck sport mirrors are a known shortcoming and I think a lot of car mirrors have been put on after the fact.

I laughed so hard when I read this when I bought my 55 and I was ripping down the road I opened the vent and lets just say it was like I won a NBA championship inside my truck , debris went everywhere, honestly all I could do laugh!!!
