You guys might expect my 13yo to be turnin wrenches with the best of em, be he has zero motivation to play with that Squareback. I'm more interested in it than he is. Maybe he's too young to see the value it will bring him ...a cool ride when he's 16, c'mon!
So you're son is not alone. It's easy to get overwhelmed when there are countless unknowns on the road ahead, but as he checks off each task confidence and momentum will build.

Bleed brakes, install wheels and seat; drive! But the rear brakes don't want to bleed! Already replaced mc. Using vac pump. Wish me luck!

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

maibe it helps to jack the rear up as far as it wants to go
makes the bends that are above the bleednipples go below it

You don't need back brakes with those huge front discs. Get in it and drive, we are waiting!!!

Id double check any flare fitting... they have a tendency to suck air with the mighty vac, but work semi allright under pedal...

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Well, it seems there may be a fundamental design flaw in mounting the MC rotated 90*. I can't get good pedal pressure at all. Even with the rear circuit port capped and good solid fluid streams at both front calipers.

The last option to try before addressing the MC (either make an adapter to turn it or buy a different MC all together) will be to try a pressure bleeder...

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Sucky, my solution.......

You have 3 options: A) No brakes needed, just be a great driver and never stop
B) fred flintstone the car, hole through the floor and some good work boots
C) E-brake only

I think those are some fine options and that is what should be done, you have some very impatient ppl here waiting, inc me!!! hehe

cap the prop valve to the rear and just run the E brake! That sounds like a little excitement every day.

I know man. Sometimes they show up for days.

Let's get caught up to present:

Cooling lines installed. Some of the gates shrink clamps too.

The S2000 MC that ultimately didn't work due to failure to bleed:

Had set up some 90* fittings and a bracket for the reservoir to mount in this orientation:

Clutch slave cylinder flex line bracket:

Key oreintation flipper 180*

Reduced width and primered (no pic of it installed...) :

Removed broken bolt from rear:

Success:

Wilwood MC installed and BLED!!! (FYI the nut on the firewall above is for the fuse panel and will be relocated to the inside/welded in before paint)

Rack ready to go in:

...and back on her wheels:

Just waiting for a clear day now... Better/outside pics to come!
