Finally got the 4.5/6 drop finished

The drop wasn't bad, the brakes were a pain(4 wheel disk) and I had to bring in some help for that part. Turns out some of the parts I got off of the classifieds had some issues and I ended up needing to replace the front rotors, one rear caliper and the booster. Lesson learned.

I will be getting the interior put back together soon and I need to get the right side exhaust run as it had to be cut for the panhard bar. These tires were on the truck when I bought it and they are toast. They are 255/60's I may go just a little bigger front and rear but not much as I have zero rubbing or clearance issues. I would love to hear thoughts on the best size to run.

I also plan to paint the rally's a darker gray and hopefully get some sort of buff out of this horrible 80's repaint.

These pics aren't great but I was in a hurry as I'll be off the grid for the next 5 days.

Re: Finally got the 4.5/6 drop finished

Thanks Keith! It was fun to get behind the wheel of this one again, the sbc 400/700r4 is much more fun than the 250/3OTT.

I'll get some better pics next week.

Re: Finally got the 4.5/6 drop finished

I have the ~same drop..running 295/60 in the rear and 235/70 up front. I went with the 70s up front for a little more LCA ground clearance. iF I had to do it over I would go with 215/70 in the front. Here's a shot when I was sporting Rallys.

I think the drop with those wheels and tires looks really good. Nice stance.

Re: Finally got the 4.5/6 drop finished

Great looking truck. I think that's just the right amount of drop for one of these trucks. Mine's about the same except a leaf spring flip in the rear that nettted 7" drop. I did go to 17's which my opinion is a must do. 235 55 17 in on 17x8 4.5" bs front and 275 55 17 rear on 17x9 5" bs 5 spoke Legends.

My vote 255/60/15 fronts and 275/60/15 rears.

Re: Finally got the 4.5/6 drop finished

I agree that the 255/60/15 is the way to go up front. I don't want clearance issues. I am leaning towards a 275/60/15 in the rear, I think it would fill the space just a bit better.

Thanks for the input!

That looks great. Did you have to notch it and did the control arms clear the rims without modifying them?
