Re: "rat Rod" ??????

You got me.

Everyone got off on a tangent, but you're right. It's officially a very over-used mis-used term.

I guess you need to buy the rat rod tool to work on this rat rod fender.

Re: "rat Rod" ??????

If you guys don't know a real HOTROD when you see one then don't jump on the band wagon with the term "ratrod" A ratrod is a poorly put together POS that shouldn't be on the road

Flat colors/primer and red wheels with white walls don't make it a rat rod, niether does a model "A" Ford in the weeds.

Shane is right on this stuff. Top Picture is not a RatRod and owner is making sure everyone knows
Here is a great example - I edited the sticker since this is the general forum area - but you get the idea.

"attached pictures = ratrod = poorly cobbled together POS with no style or thought put into the build process"

rant off - sorry guys

Re: "rat Rod" ??????

OK, heres a simple example... If you see it in Hot Rod or PHR or CC or ANY magazine for that matter.. you have already missed the boat and the fad is over!

There is a feature in a recent issue of HR that has a guy that bought a 150k car, and "ratted" it out " (they call it suede'd now) It was a 'glass body, and he even drilled holes and airbrushed in rust on the car... stupid if sikk.....

Want to get an idea about the state of "real" rat rodz? Go check out the Primer Nationals in Ventura......
