Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
Says the guy who used rain-x because he's too cheap to by new blades. Come clean, you're trying to back pedal from the rain-x post and pretend you're not cheap! Eh hem, of course you do know rain-x reduces wind drag, so you're getting better mileage from that too... you sly old dog!

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
Never said it was...I don't drive my C-10 enough to worry about fuel mileage, but 10mpg is a big difference than the almost 30 mpg I get with my 2014 camaro daily driver. The truck is a blast to drive though.
How much is gas in California now ? Reg. is about $2.65 gal. here in NJ |

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
That was a pic I pulled off the web to show the verbiage "Regular" is used, not necessarily current. But still not too far off.
I think right now you can get regular for a bit under $4. I filled up with Premium the other day for 4.35. Prices are high here. j

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
I have "Hill Billy" intermittent wipers.
I ran a wire from the low speed off the wiper motor. tucked it into the wiring harness, brought it up through the shifter boot and up the shifter. I hooked it up to a kill switch off a dirt bike. push the button, ground the motor, cycle the wipers once, (They self park) I never have to take my hand off the shifter |

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
Best:
Air / Fuel gauge. Upgrading to a wideband soon. Lars 3.5 turn steering box Clutch fan - I can actually feel a power difference Relayed headlights. They are brighter than most 10 year old cars. 3 point seatbelts Worst: Can't really think of anything I've done that I didn't like / wasn't worth it in the end. Body mounts - sucked to install and realign stuff Dealing with rust

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
What is an air fuel gauge?
What are you calling wideband on the fuel gauge? What are you calling relayed headlights? I am a pretty new GMC Jimmy owner and these are two areas on Jimmy I would like to improve. Including considering LED headlights, other external lights and dash gauges. Would appreciate your help This thread has been great for me. It was a really good idea, especially for us newer owners. |

You can buy or make a kit from components that takes battery voltage directly to the headlights. It makes a big difference, not going through all those wires and the headlight switch. I took before and after pictures and posted them in this thread- https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=782071
