Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

Been waiting a long time to get this all done. 3.5/5 drop, 15x8 F / 15x10 R chrome rallys, ECE shorty headers/Flowmaster 40's and tucked exhaust. I am pleased with the results. Thanks to SeeTen for direction on the drop.

Re: Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Are we really ever done? There will always be the wishlist. Would love to have a 383 stoker, posi rear, underbed tank, bags, etc ........... in time, with $$$, it will happen. But isn't that what makes this hobby so great? Always changing. Never boring.

Re: Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

Man, it's so hard to decide which one I like better. On the one hand the before shot just needs to be lowered a bit. Rallys n spinners are nice. Then on the other hand a chrome rally adds just that much more shiney stuff and against a black fleet..whoa son! I hope mine looks that good someday.

Re: Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

Man I've always believed in being honest and I'm gonna level with ya...hope you don't take it personal but that truck looks better in the 1st picture to me, IMOP...I like you had the same set up in stock suspension and rally's. I went with aftermarket wheels (centerline) and for some reason It just doesn't look the same and I don't realize it till i look at earlier pict's like I'm doing with yours. You have a beautiful truck either way but there is something about those ralley's and stock height. Thanks for sharing your pict's and no we are never through...at least for me...don't think i'll ever be satisfied.

I appreciate your honesty. Funny you should say that because the two techs who did the work on the truck were disappointed I was dropping it as well. I am keeping the rallys (all four are 15x10) so that I can easily swap them out but may have to get some 15x8's for the front. The choice of chrome rallys is a long story and not my first choice. 17" billets planned for it some day.
But I am happy with the drop. Installed new KYB shocks/ball joints/poly sway bar bushings that will help with the handling as well. Wheels are an easy (but not necessarily cheap) way to change the look, so I can change it depending on my mood.

I agree with ya 100%!!! I kept my rallys as well and I'm glad...almost sold them a couple of times but when I get in the mood I can just throwem on and wala...back to stock I go. I'll say it again, you have a beautiful truck and that baby doesn't need anything else but driven. ya have any pictures of the interior???

Re: Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

I painted my rally's black to match my truck and put on some polished beauty rings and sanded my stock rally center caps to give them a brushed alluminum look and I got my 20's the next day and was kind reluctant to take off the rally's but I am definetly gonna put them on my other 70 that I am building stock. nice truck hope to have one like that some day.

Re: Dropped, Wheels, Exhaust

Mark, That rig is beautiful either way. I'm still in the build process of my 67 and couldn't decide whether I wanted to drop. Seeing your before shot made my mind up, thanks. Is the tire size in the before shot 275 all around?

Looks sweet, before and after! You have a good looking truck there.

Now you will have to update your avatar/icon with the new stance.
