Re: anybody found any new old vintage photo's of our truck's ? here is one 67 custom

Not sure about chitlins, but I do know for a fact GM made blazer motorhomes in 74-77. They called them chalet's and every now and then one comes up for sale. Would love to have one. Sorry dont have any pics on hand. Now if these chitlins are first generation blazer motorhomes then I will definately have to get myself one.

I posted this one a while back. From my honeys side of the family. Bunch of big time hunters back in the day. Now most em are in their mid 70's and up and dont to the outdoor thing nearly as much. My father in law still takes a yearly hunting trip in Montana though.

Re: anybody found any new old vintage photo's of our truck's ? here is one 67 custom

the picures are sweet i saved all of them to my computer
i think these pictures might be a little to new, they are circa 92, but they are vintage for me, both trucks are my dads, i know next to nothing about the rusty pickup i just know it was a 71 and we still have the motor from it, the other nice looking truck is my dads 71 custom deluxe k10, it is the truck that started my love for these trucks, the baby is me

Special-k, I like all your trucks (or pictures of them)...they all seem to have big meats on them! There's no shortage of rubber on those wheels!

You started a good one, man! I love seeing all those pics these members are putting in whether old corporate advertising or personal photos.
Also my favorite types of threads. I hope that these qualify for what you have in mind.

1st one is the only pic around the time Mom bought the Jimmy. I think it was taken around Feb.1972, with an old poloriod. There was a flood in June of 1972 and this pic was found after the flood in a field. Thats me at 15 leanin' on the hood.

2nd pic is Mom with her Jimmy in 1980. I always thought the Jimmy looked like a dog begging to go for a ride in this one--comeon drive me! I have to add she is now 85, a 3 time cancer survivor, and she still doesn't hardly have a grey hair!

Iv'e posted this one before,my C2500 helping my sister move to Devils Tower, WY in 1980 when she worked for the park service.

A 1985 pic of a sprint car I did the lettering on with my C2500 in the background.

Thanks everyone for the cool contributions to this thread!

Later---DAC

Re: anybody found any new old vintage photo's of our truck's ? here is one 67 custom

My uncle's ex wife gave us a box of photos of him after he died. It was (is) a Black 72 Cheyenne. I will have to get the photos from my dad and scan them. the good news is my brother has the truck now and did a frame off resto. It is a 400 BB truck, AC, PS,PB, bedside toolbox, tilt. He added a tach I found him during resto. 120k miles and the engine has never been rebuilt. Uncle ran it on propane for yrs, took it off for another truck before he died, and we couldn't find the parts after he died. He bought the truck new from AJ Foyt Chevrolet in Houston. My bro wanted to use the painted rear step bumper that had the dealer info, but it was in too bad of shape, so he installed a repro chrome like the front and built a receiver hitch for it.

i also have some on my cell phone of my pother bro's Cheyenne Super that look old because of the resolution, but I cannot get them to download. Will try again.

Re: anybody found any new old vintage photo's of our truck's ? here is one 67 custom

I took this pics of my brother's 71 Cheyenne Super a couple of yrs ago. These have better resolution and do not look as retro as I thought. In any case, still a cool truck. He had a big shop air compressor and other stuff that he needed to get from the Tx coast to his place in Virginia, so he figured he would find a nice truck around where I live (Austin), buy it cheap and sell it in VA. He bought this truck in Port Lavaca Texas for $4,500, put tires shocks and tuned it up and drove it to Richmond,Va with no problems. I gave him the old camper shell to keep stuff dry and secure.. I think it adds to the "RETRO VIBE". I think he said he got around 10-12 mpg. He sold it on EBAY up there for $14k. It was original paint, recovered bench seat, tilt, tach, 402/TH400, factory cruise (!), factory AM/FM radio and dealer installed (?) air shocks with on board compressor and AC DELCO control under the dash. SUPER CLEAN ORIGINAL TRUCK. I would have hung onto it. This was one of the most highly optioned original trucks I have ever seen. The only thing I can think of that it did not have was bucket seat/ console. I cannot find a SPID picture and I could swear I took one! I only wish I had beat him to it. The money is going to a good cause. He is restoring a 69 Indy Pace Car replica (white convertible with orange SS stripes and interior)
