Those are dealer installed options, not factory options.
They had lots of neat stuff. In '59 you could get sunglasses from the GMC dealers that said GMC on the arms. They were cheap, but I would give my left lug nuts to find another pair in good shape.
Some of the dealer installed options listed in my 69 GMC owners manual include a pull out camper bumper, add-a-leaf springs, C.B. radio, 8 track stereo, locking gas cap,air hornsspot light,a couple step bumpers, a brush guard (cattle guard in Tx)arm rests, seat covers, tow hooks, and some other stuff.
I know in the 68 chevy owners amnual, it lists the glove box light too.

WHat are you refering to as a vanity light?

Glove box lights were never an option, only dealer installed.

How rare are those stainless door edge guards? I snagged a pair a few years ago off a junked wrecker but never saw anymore in my travels.

If they are listed on the glove box label I would say they were from the factory. If not by the dealer, or PO. I have seen them on the parts board at times and also some NOS ones on ebay so they can be added.

The edge guards were avalible as a factory option for 71 & 71 IIRC. IT was more common as a dealer install though. Tissure dispenser was never an option on these trucks, although I'm sure you could talk the dealer into bolting one up though.

Thanks for the enhancement! It is a good option list, but notice the lack of "custom sport truck" or "cheyenne" options. Originally a custom, but have added a big block, tach, buckets. Is there a reason it dosen't say anything about front locking hubs? I have seen it on other trucks. Didn't they all have manual hubs in these years???

Door edge guards were listed on both an ealy cheyenne I had, and my 71 Super. Brother had wht, hugger org, white listed as too much stuff and it had edge guards as well, In fact they could almost be twins except for the block heater and my brother's trucks red hole custom vent system for the bed .

ya I have that option too, no thanks I dont feel like paying the extra amount to have a truck box floor but what it actually meant is that you got a wood bed as opposed to metal
