Longhornmail: How's the Caddy Swap coming along?

how's the swap comin' along, I haven't been able to find the Caddy Thread since they disabled the search. Have you been able to drive it yet?Had any problems?

The one thing that has me stumped is how to hook up the electronic kickdown for the th400, with the edelbrock carb there is nowhere to hook it up.
It doesn't have to be hooked up does it?Good God the thing has enough traction problems now without having a kickdown.with it disconnected the tranny will downshift itself from third to second fine.(what does it kickdown to, 1st?)

You dont need the kick down hooked up on the 400t, the only function it serves is a 3 to 1 kick down @ about 30 mph or under. I ran a BB Olds in the longhorn for a while, & didnt need ....or want that kickdown! the 400 t will shift down from 3 to 2 without the elect kickdown. 3to1 kick down on a BB......talk about some "roasted rubber"........& a d@mn squirrely truck to boot(sounds like fun to this crazy old man) Need an update on that longhorn , Andy. Good luck, crazyL

No updates to speak of.
If you really want to hook that kick down up, you could get a 71/72 throttle assembly and hook it up. It has the switch on the pedal and the throttle cable which is better too.
I have the TH350 in mine, but the carb has no provisions for the kick down cable.
