Best fuel pump for 71 C10

What's best for my 71 C10 350 sb manual transmission. I hate the way the electrical fuel pump sounds at times. Anyone have the pro's or cons for either. 600 series edlebrock and cammed?

A stock mechanical pump will do just fine for your truck. No need to re-invent the wheel and design a custom fuel system.

Agreed, stock replacement would be fine. For high performance, I like the Carter indexable pumps with NPT fittings and adapt metal lines. The Right Stuff offers a pre-bent metal fuel line for SBC/Edelbrock carb combos using the factory pump. I would like at adding one of those as well and eliminating any rubber line under pressure from the pump. The Right Stuff has great customer service, but they tend to send the WRONG stuff about half the time, but I am glad that offer specialty things like the Edelbrock metal line.

Re: Best fuel pump for 71 C10

Edelbrock carbs need a pump that puts out no more than 6 psi, or else they flood. They're very sensitive to fuel pressure so a stock replacement is likely not fine. I went with the Edelbrock fuel pump since they're made for their carbs, but you can get a cheaper stock style one. Again, just make sure it's no more than 6 psi.

Edit: You can also just get a stock pump and throw a pressure regulator on it as well. Edelbrock recommends setting it at 5.5 psi.
