Best fuel pump for 71 C10

What's best for my 71 C10 350 sb manual transmission. I hate the way the electrical fuel pump sounds at times. Anyone have the pro's or cons for either. 600 series edlebrock and cammed?

The standard mechanical pumps generally last, and are quiet. Why not just put it back to stock?

Very easy to do, unless you have a flat lobe on the cam, or other issues prevent the usage of a stock item.

Hard to go wrong with toolboxchevy's recommendation. Staying electric and being quiet involves buying the higher end pumps and regulators and then mounting the correctly. Having a return line to the tank also helps to quiet things down. My Burban has an electric pump and the regulator is noisier than the pump and then it can only be heard at idle.

Don’t reinvent the wheel ! The original pump design is all you need for most street vehicles.

If you have an edelbrock carb, their pump matches nicely with 6psi and high volume.

If you use a stock pump, you need a regulator with edelbrock carb.

Re: Best fuel pump for 71 C10

As stated above, with an Edelbrock carb, you want a pump rated for no more than 6 psi. I personally went with the Edelbrock fuel pump.
