91 'burb cargo area mat??

I recently acquired a 91 v 2500 suburban to use as a truck until the frame off/4x2 to 4x4 conversion is done on my 74 C20 (may be a couple years)cleaning this thing up was as much of a challenge as getting it road worthy, had been used as a storage unit for the last 5 years or so, and the factory mat and insulation in the cargo area was just foul and dirty after 30 years of neglect, so I yanked it out and threw it away. Now I'm OK with just a metal deck, but the rattles are too much for me. After spending some time scrubbing and searching looking for something loose that is causing the rattles I came to conclusion it may be broken spot welds, looks like there is hundreds of them. So I am now thinking I would like a thick rubber mat, removable, like one for a pick up. Looking for "out of the box" ideas, something to keep the cost down. I had considered just re-welding the horizontal supports that are spot welded, pretty time consuming and the fuel tank would have to be dropped, and with my luck it would still be noisy after all the work, what have you guys done for this?

Horse trailer/stall mats. They come about 4' x 6' and you can just cut them to fit.

I had a custom mat sewn for mine. The bottom is rubber floor rug material sewn to factory colored and style carpet and hemmed around the edges. It covers the entire floor area with the 3rd row removed and the 2nd row folded down.

I don't know if this is a cheaper alternative to horse trailer / stall mats, but Dee Zee still sells their heavy duty bed mat for pickups. Here's one at Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is what I put in the rear of my Suburban. It was very easy to trim and I quite like the fact that it conforms nicely to the wheel wells. It is so heavyweight that it has the added benefit of being an excellent layer of sound-deadening and insulation. It is so thick it would have to be removed if I ever wanted to put the third row seat back in, but that isn't an issue for me.

Home depot 6x8 mat $29.95. It is loop pile and doesn't fray up when you cut it. It has bound edges. I cut it to fit around the passenger side wheel hump.
