But I assume it involved deleting all the auto trans related stuff, and likely a manual trans spark table pasted in. It's not as smooth as it could be when getting on and off the gas be that's because I don't have a VSS hooked up. Once I get the TKO in I should have the VSS working and we'll see then.

Yes there is a spot for the pilot bearing in the 5.3L crank.

As far as hardware I used:

Flywheel - Sachs NFW1050
Clutch kit - Exedy 04081
Flywheel to crank bolts - ARP 330-2802
Pressure plate bolts - ARP 134-2201
Pilot bearing - GM 12557583

I used the ARP hardware since it was about the same price or a little more than the OEM GM hardware. The Exedy kit comes with throwout bearing and holds the power just fine, feels like a stock clutch. Towed 7k lbs no issue. The SM465 was factory installed in my truck, with the 1" setback plates (Car shop CSP2370) no driveline mods were needed. Any other questions just ask.
Whenever you get the TKO and VSS hooked up, just let me know what needed done and that should be it.

Re: 5.3 with sm465 4 speed?

I don't plan on having the PCM reprogrammed when I put the TKO in, the speed signal doesn't matter much when you have a manual trans unless you are running a electronic speedo. Since I'm running the cable drive speedo off the trans the PCM just needs to see a speed signal to left it know it's off idle and adjust. TKO has both cable drive and a Ford 11 pulse VSS so I'll have a signal to send to the PCM.

Also forgot to ask, for your parts bought. Is that all of them? I just want a full parts list if you could so I can buy what I need a little at a time as I get paid.

Side note:
My motor is an LM7 from a 2001 Silverado 1500.

Yes those are the transmission related parts you'll need. Stock linkage and fork works. Also if you haven't bought motor mounts yet, I would recommend CarShop CSP2370 plates, they are of the 1" setback design and place the motor in the right spot, you will not have to modify your driveline if you are using the stock SM465.

Re: 5.3 with sm465 4 speed?

I'm actually not using a VSS at this time, but if I was keeping the VSS I'd likely use this setup from Jags That Run.

http://jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Parts_S...ctor-Diff.html

There are other solutions as well that would work, I believe some folks use a 8000 pulse inline sender that connects to the speedometer cable.

Re: 5.3 with sm465 4 speed?

What manifolds/herders are y'all using with the z bar linkage and sm465? I've got a c20 and about to put a 5.3 in it and want to use the factory linkage.

Re: 5.3 with sm465 4 speed?

I used a 98 Camaro manifold on the drivers side.
