My Grandpa always trained me to improve the design if necessary.

Leave it alone if it was Good.

I think it needs a washer on the top of the spacer that will fit in the bed rib.

Then the bed ribs need a thin(1/16 to 1/8 inch) rubber strip where it touches the tank.

The top washer and adding 1 below will have the top of the bolt mounted Ridged.

Then the rubber in-between the tank and bed will keep things from shifting and loosening.

I had some retaining nuts machined locally. This is the new retaining nut and one of my original bolts. Also, one of my original tank.

Those look awesome. Any way for me to get a handful made?

Thanks

Re: WTB NL2 tank

Contact information for the machine shop I used is in post #29 of this thread.

https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...=834742&page=2

He did a good job and was easy to work with. He made some retaining nuts for others on this forum as well. He created a template from one of my good originals and likely still has that.

Side note, these washers original? They all have what looks like a bird with an f in the middle, maybe falcon?
I believe that makers mark is Falcon Forge from Shreveport, LA.

Re: WTB NL2 tank

Not to raid your post- but how many gallons are these tanks? I plan on building something similar for my diesel conversion for both sides of the truck
