heres some more pictures of what i did today
i took off the body of the frame
also removed bed off donor truck ect...

heres so far i need alil help before continuing with my project, i wanna know if any one knows the messurments of where to mount the trailing arms rear axle ect.. and where to mount the from crossmember ect..

Are you converting it to 2wd? If so I have my 72 factory 2wd blazer project at my dads house in Crosby, TX; just north of you. I will be out there next week if you want to come out and take some measurements.

I have to work that weekend, but I am off all next week 3/8-3/11. Most of that time I should be out there. If you can't come until next weekend I can see if my dad will be around to meet you.

ok i ran into alil problem when trying to remove the rear end off the 2wd donor truck, some of the bolts cant be removed because they dont have a nut on either side, there round on both sides and cant be unscrewed if u want pics i can take some, but yea i was wondering whats the best way to remove'em?

the black is the bolts and the red is the frame
as u can see theres no way to remove them

There are various ways to remove rivets. I usually just grab a grinder and grind one to the frame and punch it through. Some will cut a slot in the rivet head and then use a chisel to cut them off then punch them through.

4 1/2" Angle Grinder with a cut off wheel on it is the quickest/easiest...

Some spots you need something smaller - so a 3" cut off wheel on a air tool...

I find a Dremel tool is invaluable to have with the metal cutoff wheels. Works great, cheap and gets into the small places.

I've tried all 3 methods: drilling out, grinding the head and the slot-cut, chisel technique.

I am sold on #3 - much faster. Take a cutoff disc on your angle grinder and cut a cross into the head of the rivet - take it down deep enough that you break through the head. Then use a good quality cold chisel to cleave off the head. Then a quick cleanup grind to make sure no rivet head is left. Then drive the rivet body through with a punch that is about the same dia.

the easiest way i figured out how to do it was find a friend that isnt doin ****, n have him do most of the grinding lmao

update
i got the cab off the donor truck which made it alot easier to remove the rear axel/trailing arms ect...

heres some pics of todays work

now i have to start working on the 4x4 frame, where to start lol

ok i finally removed both suspesion off of both trucks now for the hard part combining them into one
but yeaha i read some where that trailing arms on the short and long beds are the same length i was just wondering if someone could confirm this for me

All trailing arms are the exact same for these trucks including:

1967-1972 LWB 4x2
1967-1972 SWB 4x2
1970-1972 4x2 Blazer/Jimmy

so i started to mount the center cross member where the trailing arms are attached too, someone told me that i can use one of the pre existent holes and drill the rest, im just wondering which hole will that be, can someone confirm this for me

I took measurements off center of radiator support, my 4x4 blazer had a factory exhaust hanger on driver side. 1 bolt 1 rivet, cross member went in backside of that bolt .pic included. clamp it in place get your front end clamped in place (get rid of 4x4 bumper stops up front) check 104" wheelbase....Ed
