Re: No C-notch

woop woop! congrats!

bleeding power steering is usually turning it lock to lock a few times. if you have too much pressure and the steering feels like you are turning on ice, thats common on a MII setup with a GM pump and you can change the pressure shim at the back of the pump, jegs sells a shim kit.

what a goober I am, I said MII but what I meant was rack and pinion. sorry. your dakota is rack and pinion.

the rack and pinion doesnt need the pressure of a steering box, so the reducer shim is still what you would need. but I am not sure how the pressure reducer would affect your hydroboost? maybe ask the guys with gm power steering boxes, hydroboost, and rack steering what they did.

I had a truck with waaayy overassisted power steering, you could steer with a pinky. it wasnt a rack, it was an older GM steering box with a newer GM steering pump, but a shim fixed it.

Im going to check all teh fittings when i get home as well as high/side low side and just the general once over ...... and might buy a PS pressure tester just to see where I am at.

Re: No C-notch

yessir, thats it

your leak could be overpressure pushing fluid out of the rack seals.
