I know you guys probably want a used one but have you checked out www.cervinis.com they have fiberglass cowl induction and ram air hoods, very nice looking IMO. The cowl hood runs around $440 but look sharp.
Heres a pic of my truck with a cervini's cowl induction hood with 3 sets of hood pins and racing stripes \/ \/ \/ \/ \/

check out Advantage Fiberglass. at one point when i was working in the dealership we had 4 88-98 trucks on the lot with aftermarket hoods on them. a Cervinis, 2 Harwoods, and a US Body hood. i looked at all of them, as did my dad(who has been in fiberglass work for the last 25 years), and then we saw an Advantage hood at a local swap meet. Advantage hoods blow all of t he others out of the water. under $300 each, so not only do they blow them out of the water with quality but price too.

So what are you trying to say 1faastC10, that my hood sucks??? I'm just kidding, I bought my truck with the hood already there so I never had the chance to pick out my own, lol.
The only thing that I like more about mine is that it has a show quality finish on the underside(not like my truck will ever be in any shows anyways) and not the fiberglass tape showing around the seams like on the advantage ones. BUT if I had picked out my own I would have bought the advantage one because of the price and the style(I dont care that the tape is showing), they also seam to be stronger in the hinge areas too. I have had a bolt rip out of the fiberglass already on mine and had to replace the orrigional bolt with a larger one to get it to hold.

heres an old pic of the underside of my hood, there are two cracks around the right vent in the cowl, and from the looks of them they are not stress related. The PO probably hit it with something

89z71, no, i didnt say your hood sucked. actually the Cervinis hood was probably second on the list. followed by the Harwood and the US Body hood.

here's a dumb question for ya... why 3 sets of hood pins if its still mounted to factory hinges?

1FaastC10- The PO should be SLAPPED! I have no idea why there are three sets of pins on my hood . I think that 2 sets whould have been enough; just for looks. Personally I would have never put any on.

And I was just kidding about you thinking my hood sucked...... I'm sorry if I worded my previous reply wrong

race2c We currently have a 88-98 1st style Cowl hood on our 88 GMC 4X4, I am considering going to the 88-98 2nd style on our 88 GMC now, if interested you can have the one on our 88 GMC for $350
or we also carry them new. You'll find our new cowl hoods here
http://www.gmcpauls.com/cowl_hoods.htm
Where you can see pictures of all 3 styles of 88-98 steel cowl hoods that we carry.
Our location is far West central Indiana and we have these in stock.

Chris H if race2c passes you'll be next in line for it, there is no damage to the hood at all, it is primered and sealed not finish painted so you would need to paint to match your truck. Our 88 that the hood is on has set on the back burner awaiting new extended cab corners to be installed before we finish painted it all with the new bed on it. Just to much going on with the business and our 67-72 trucks to get at the 88.

GMCPaul- The hood is all steel construction correct? Also, where is Rockville, IN? Depending on where it is I may drive up to get it instead of having you ship it.

GMCPaul- I am interested in the hood, I just have to talk to my parents to night and find an open day to come up and pick it up. I would be coming from Decaur, IL about an 1 hour or so from IL/IN border. When would be good for you to have me come and pick it up?
