1967 to 1972 motorhomes...

Is there any demand for our trucks set up as motorhomes back in the day? I came across this beauty, but have nowhere to store it, and am not sure what these are worth, if anything. But if there's a crazy cult following and I can have some hope of getting my investment back, I might work on figuring out a way to get her home...

I don't think there is/was a high demand, but I have been keeping my eye open for one for the right price.

Re: 1967 to 1972 motorhomes...

Guess I'm just a sucker for those clean/lo miles C 30s with chassis mount campers (small motorhomes) and, if that one in CA were 4 speed instead of auto trans, I would probably be all over it - even though I already have TWO of 'em. My wife and I travel all over the US in a 72 Chev 402BB and 4 sp with Mitchell chassis camper and we do well. Gets 11 to 12 mpg and is conveniently compact compared to lots of units. Yeah, it looks "old" compared to almost everything else in its league, but if sometime something does decide to quit working, I most likely will be able to figure it out and get us going again without spending horrendous $$$ and time in the process. And, once in a while some guy comes up to me with a smile and says "neat truck - we had one - want to sell it?" Another thing - if you think you would like to run a C30 for some other purpose (much better built truck than C10 and C20) these are easy to convert (with some imagination and time) to very strong flat bed, dumper, car hauler, etc. Just a few thoughts upon seeing a nice old Chev MoHome for sale. My dad has a model of one of these from when he was a kid. I'll have to dig it out.

Re: 1967 to 1972 motorhomes...

boogie 67, you can walk through in some models (like my two) but others were designed just to remove the rear cab window and have a nice boot for that size of a pass through to the camper (works for crawlin' kids and for communication) and some others have no pass through at all. I think that the walk-through style is best - very convenient and - I think - safer.

Re: 1967 to 1972 motorhomes...

I lived in one exactly like that in San Diego back in 1991. It went into the shop for a break job and it got ripped off and never saw it again. I enjoyed it and sometimes wish It was still around to enjoy. Some color and the interior matches this one perfectly. Enjoy it if you pick it up.

Re: 1967 to 1972 motorhomes...

or you could do this and keep your truck for cruz nights.....
the crank ups are pretty hard to find but keeps the top weight down and they don't get beat up by the wind as bad

Pretty sure it's this model, except red... and broken in half... by me... model cars + 2 yr olds = broken.
