Re: Body shop in northern California

Are you looking for show car paint or just riding around paint?...
based on your other post, I assume you've had sticker shock quotes from body shops..
It's one of those you get what you pay for things..
A "good" body man will only settle for going to bare metal and doing his own filler/paint work..his rep is on the line...those are gonna cost...
if you need alot of metal repair, its gonna cost..
If all your looking for is a 20ft paint job with no body work involved, something like maco does decent work..and any prep you do for them will save on the end cost..
The colors you choose also affect cost
I know it really doesnt answer your question , but it's something to think about..
Do you have a paint budget?...its not unheard of to have 10k+ in a paint job..

Re: Body shop in northern California

My plan is to learn to do most, if not all, myself. Not a skill that is going to bring me riches, but i have been wanting to learn how to do it since i was a kid. Now is as good as any time to get into it. I few tools and a lot of time is all I have been able to figure I need initially. Won't be show quality, but what the heck, it will be fun to try. And I have found that there is a ready supply of help and advise here that is second to none RR

How much work is needed, I am an HVAC guy but tinker on the side. I have an early Bronco on a rotisserie right now and might have another coming in but not 100% yet.
