looking at your lengths you may be a candidate for a jeep cherokee (not grand cherokee, the early 80s-90s box) shaft, it has u joints at both ends and a slip shaft, it may be just right and has u joints at both ends. I know you have a camaro clip but the principle and most importantly the DD and splines are the same. those cherokees are all over my local craigslist from the 4x4 guys, parting them out.

you always put in so much detail in order to help me, I so appreciate it brother, thank you so much, this has been added to my Do It Right List (... eventually)

Update: after removing the compression coupling I noticed that the bottom shaft was only inserted like 1/4" of an inch instead of like an 1 1/4" glad I took it all apart, by inserting it in fully that lowered the interfering bolt out of the way of the spark plug wire and switching to a shorter bolt fixed the problem.

As far as the angle I also noticed that my steering column sags about an inch at the firewall opening, so I must devise a proper lower steering column bracket, looking for ideas/advice?

looks like this Ididit beauty is just what the doctor ordered:

Re: A '54 named Busty

huh I found one of those column clamps in a box of parts I bought and used it on a 41 chevy truck, they are handy! I had no idea where it came from.

you could always just get some bluetooth cordless spark plug wires!

Re: A '54 named Busty

having fixed our steering column spark plug wire interference problem we moved on to the pesky leaky power steering pump

it appeared the precipitation was limited to only when the vehicle was running, and the steering pump was under pressure

further inspection revealed the high pressure hose adapter to the -6 AN fitting as the culprit

it appears out of the 47 different adapters we were using the wrong one (imagine that)

Re: A '54 named Busty

however in an unprecedented happenstance we happened to have the proper one in our drawer of everything you have except what you need

please don't ask me what the different adapter / fittings are called, I reserve the right to Ron Swanson this and I do not wanna know, ha ha

Nice job dude!

Remember that all LS swaps demand obligatory burnouts. Right there in the cul de sac will be fine. Don’t be shy.

ha ha, I would but I am already on a first name basis with the HOA since the previous owners cut the tree down in our front yard, replaced bark with white rocks, and painted the side gate the wrong shade of gray without getting their permission before we even moved in, therefor I tread lightly (and keep in mind this is my third truck, so I already laid down some solid one wheel peels in da past, hee hee)
