Re: parting out 1968 C-30 Custom Camper 28K original miles fact AC, speed minder, cru

Let me clarify just a few things....

The radio is an aftermarket, am/fm with 8 track, not original
The doors are rusted under where the speakers were put in, the passenger side is in much better shape than the drivers side, which is a shame because otherwise the doors are near perfect, not even a dent in either one, they are definitely worth saving, hinges outer door handles, glass, vent chrome and even the felts are nice, they look like they've never been used.
The engine is missing the carb
The bucket seats are not the factory style, they are some kind of mongrul seat, possibly the same type used in a step van or something. The uph. looks similar to 69-72 but that's about all that looks right. They are usuable but I wouldn't recommend them for a show truck.

I need to look over some of the not so obvious items and price them. I am trying to be fair about the pricing and I don't want to quote a price on something I am not absolutely sure about.

I'll get some updated info tomorrow and post updates

The speedwarning dash is tentatively sold, along with the headlight and wiper switches.

Wow seacrow, that was a phenomenal truck! You`re going to have your hands full with parts requests for awhile.Speedminder w/4.57 gears...wouldn`t want to pick up too much speed while gazing at the sights .I don`t think I`ve ever seen a 4.57 equipped truck with cruise control.I didn`t even thing cruise was available before`72.I always understood speedminder to be the forerunner of cruise and have never seen them together.

PARTS:
1)Camper Nameplates...Hey,where are my Custom Camper emblems?
2)Cab...Is the cab a walk through?I`m interested pending more description.Price?
3)Fenders...Condition?Is that rust in the back corner of the passenger side? They were re-painted,right?Any noticeable body work?Price?
4)Engine...could you by chance get me the numbers of it?Price?

Still interested in seeing Pics of the seats and what is installed. Might be they are the Chevy/Dodge type without the center buddy drop down and or individualy mounted seats. Anyway if price n shipping isn't a killer I'm still interested.

Re: parting out 1968 C-30 Custom Camper 28K original miles fact AC, speed minder, cru

OK guys, I am starting the tear down later today, I'll get better pics of this stuff and post prices.

I also have a clear Fl. title showing the mileage as 28597 actual as of 6-9-04

the truck has not moved since then except on my car trailer.

the cab needs rockers and some cab support work, it's a walkthrough, no gas tank behind the seats, has a block off where the cap would be.

FYI, I'm pretty sure those buckets are the period-correct style for a 67/68 walk-thru cab, perhaps supplied by the conversion company?

Re: parting out 1968 C-30 Custom Camper 28K original miles fact AC, speed minder, cru

Can you post a picture of the left side of the SPID sticker or a complete view?
I am wondering what the missing option numbers that didn't make it into the picture are:

???62CB AUTO JACK EQUIP
Anyone know what this is? I've never hear of it.

???0AA REAR AXLE 457 RATIO
???5DB DR WHEEL CONVERSION
??15JA SPEED WARNING
??16AD GREEN VINYL TRIM

What a classic work truck that must have been. It's sad to see them go out.

Thanks.

Those seats sure look like mid 60's Pontiac buckets to me. Seat foam has similar shape to those I recall seeing in 65-66 Bonneville or GTO/Lemans.

Does the front brake drums have a spacer bolted on them so it can bolt the dually wheel on. If so, what do you want for the spacers shipped to 49707 Ron
