Pinion angle

I’m removing the 67 Eaton reared and installing a 96 Chevy 14 bolt. The pinion angle measures 7 degrees while the front driveshaft measures 3 degrees. Can anyone help with what I should be setting the new rearend to?

I did mine this way, however, I can check the angle mine was at.

Mine was right at 10 degrees.

I found this Spicer site to be helpful.

I hope this helps. Ask if you have more questions.
