What is your trucks name

I have always named my trucks ...

My 70cst is named the "Circuit Rider".
My 04 Sierra is names "Nell" ... is your truck named?

I now need to install my name plate.

Re: What is your trucks name

I come and go as far as naming my vehicles. Normally they don't really have one, but some just seem to call out for their name. My DD is a 98 Dodge Ram named Herb, in honor of who I inherited it from. Right now the 81 GMC is called Jimmy until something better hits me.

My old 02 Silverado was Whitey (guess what color)
My old 94 was Carlos, the 64 was the Mule.

Re: What is your trucks name

My 72 Short Fleet is now called Glory since its now nice and shiny . My late wife named it Faded Glory when we first got it cause it was pretty rough looking .
My 97 3/4 ton 4x4 has been named TrashTruck by a good friend after I took out a trash can to keep from being hit Head on .
My Blue 70 Stepper project is named Rusty Blue , even though the rust was repaired by Rusbuit StreetRods , it will retain its Patina and factory paint .
My blue 72 4x4 needs a new name as I dont remember what I called it , I think I just called it the 4x4 .
My recently purchased 74 Suburban is called the Ramblin Wreck , as it had an accident during the previous owners move from Arizona to North Carolina that messed up the driver rear quarter .
My 65 shorty service truck project is currently called Ma Bell as it was a BellSouth Truck in its original life .
My others are non trucks so I wont mention them .

Re: What is your trucks name

Here, if a vehicle belongs to a specific member of the household, it gets a name like "Jack's truck" or "Jill's car." Otherwise, we've always gone by color. Blue truck, gray car, red truck, white car, etc.

Not very imaginative(except for some of these newer cars where the color is very vague), but it works when referring to a specific vehicle in the fleet with as few syllables as possible.

Edit to add: It's kinda' similar to the way I "name" my cows. All but one of them are only known by their three-digit number. That number has become a name. "179" brings to mind a specific cow in the same way that a name does. One cow showed up here as someone's former pet, and with a name already chosen, so it stuck.

So in my mind, using a color or a number doesn't automatically remove all the personality from the relationship.
