Ipod to Amp

Not looking to rattle windows, would like to hook ipod to an amp, then out to speakers. Head unit is Delco in my 84, would like to bypass that. Is there any way to run an equalizer/ volume control also ? Thanks.

Re: Ipod to Amp

So it has been about 10 yrs since i built my truck...i do not have a head unit at all.

I dont recall all that was done, but i just have an input wire to my phone. It has a gain control, and then volume by phone. I use to have an eq app that i used

Interior will be coming back out within the next few months as i am redoing my enclosure.

Re: Ipod to Amp

So I just figured how to do this and get a lot of functions at the same time. Dayton Audio released the DSP-408 a few months ago, and it is actually a good product. You can run an aux chord to the inputs, or if it is one with bluetooth, you can get the adapter. It allows you to set crossover points, and eq each output channel. It even has time delay built in.

Re: Ipod to Amp

Look for an amp intended for boats or side by sides. I think the one I have in my vw is a kenwood. It is an amp that powers 4 speakers and runs off my phone via bluetooth or aux cable. No head unit needed and everything can be hidden.

Re: Ipod to Amp

I have been trying to find a solution to accomplish this for a while and I can't find information anywhere. With everything having blue tooth these days, I figured it would be easy. I want to be able to connect my smart phone directly (cable ok) to one or more powered under seat speakers. I don't plan on having a stereo/deck in my truck. I figure there may need to be cables and adapters to go from the phone to the speakers, and possibly some type of device to split the signal to multiple speakers. I just don't have much knowledge in this area. Does anyone have a simple diagram of how to set it up?

Re: Ipod to Amp

I did this years ago when my stereo got stolen out of my car. I just used a cable from the ipod to the amp. Used the eq and volume control in the ipod. Worked great until I was able to replace the head unit. The headphone output is enough to run the amp. I'm sure someone makes a bluetooth box to connect to the amp also. Here is one I found just now. https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Ada...70557921&psc=1
