Dogs are optional. I'm not sure if dealers were giving puppies away free-to-a-good-home with the purchase of A New truck, but you never know. Auto Dealers had some weird promotions in their day.

Oh, you meant pinstripes? -Aftermarket, totally

I think the factory did offer a stripe like that in 72 and possibly 71... Could be factory.

Do you know how that sort of paint job is done? Is there a thread or video that shows the process? I'm liking that paint job.

Re: Details

yes, that is a D89 RPO pinstripe in post #1 (so, factory applied, not dealer). I believe it was only offered 68-72. It appears in the 68 data book in the 'other optional equipment' section as "Stripes, Body Side Paint... D89" - but I couldn't find it anywhere in the 67 data book.

Re: Details

I had to think for a moment before posting the photo for fear it might be moved to off topic. Glad I did because I feel it should be seen, pretty interesting photo. I myself have never seen those stripes before. As far as the dog goes, very common around my area.

My 68 SPID shows the stripe. But I did not put it back on when the truck was repainted.

This is Simon ! He was one of the best companions I ever had. Lost him to diabetes in 2020. Miss him terribly. I could not go near a pickup without him going nuts to go along.
