ugh!!!! gotta vent

so the last thing i needed to do to get my GMC on the road was to claen the gas tank anf put in a new sending unit as mine was all yucked out and the float was gone. wanted to drive the truck downtown for the 4th last night,

ordered one from e bay and installed it in my cleaned out tank and when i went to screw in the hard gas line to the sender, the part where the threads are fell apart!!!!!

ruined my plans to show off the truck!!!
ok rant is over
dont buy china for our trucks

Re: ugh!!!! gotta vent

I agree with the "don't buy China" but sometimes it's impossible to avoid. It really ticks me off when I pay a premium to get original GM parts and open the package to find they were made in China.

Re: ugh!!!! gotta vent

Was that the O.E.R. sending unit or a different brand? I can't remember the country of origin for mine and I no longer have the box. Just curious if I got lucky.

Re: ugh!!!! gotta vent

OER like virtually all other vendors don't make anything--they just sell stuff sourced typically from Asia.

Re: ugh!!!! gotta vent

OER not OEM. I guess the R stands for restoration, replacement, or other

Re: ugh!!!! gotta vent

I bought a NOS tail gate from somebody only to find out the sticker was the only NOS part from GM. The crook put the sticker on a Chineese tail gate.
