New engine, old cast crank pulley? Pulley Qs

So some have read my story of needing an engine for my 70. I went with a retro kinda look and am wrapping up the install. I kinda wanted to update the pulleys, so I tried some chrome ones I have, but the power steering only aligns with this cast pulley that came off of the old motor. I did clean it up and paint it.

My concern is that this is a bit of weight hanging off the front of my new motor, should I be concerned about this for harmonics, balance, etc...? And is this a 327 pulley or a 350?

I could probably get an offset PS pulley, a different lower pulley and be done with it.

I also have in my stash a 3 groove aluminum pulley I could use for less weight, but my concern with that is the water pump and alternator will be turned too slow and not cool/charge efficiently.

You can see the differences in the pictures.

Thanks for any assistance.

Re: New engine, old cast crank pulley? Pulley Qs

Your build looks nice, just perfect for an old school truck. I would not be concerned too much about the old pulleys.

The accessories are the biggest hp drain on the motor. A standard fan on these motors can take as much as 30 hp off the motor. Use the fan clutch setup that guys do.

Mine still runs around daily with iron heads and all period correct stuff without over heating. I do have a new 4 core copper and brass radiator in it. It will be 50 years old come September. That alone say a lot for the stuff GM produced. The block and heads are original to the truck.

Your heater core hoses look reversed in the first pic though....

Thanks for the compliments. Would this make any difference? I'm getting a new aluminum radiator (brass and copper one showing signs of leaking) and it actually has the fitting for the heater core return hose on it. Which hose would run there?
