I'm not feeling it. It looks like my daughters Escalade with two doors. I wouldn't buy one.
Especially at the price.

Meh. If you need a Sawzall to remove the top, I don't consider it a Blazer.

Re: Kinda the Blazer we wanted......

I don't know why any of them even bother if they're not going to go solid front axle, or at least make it an option.

Only new real 4x4 is the Wrangler, not that I think very much of Jeep products.

I agree. I'm disappointed that Ford seems to think way more of their fan base than GM does.

On a side note, I was behind a new Bronco yesterday. I was surprised at how small it seemed - probably about the same exterior size as the original.

I work with a lady who said just yesterday that she & her husband had looked at a Bronco in Little Rock at a dealership there. She said it was small and they were not gonna buy it. Personally, I am not a big fan of everything BIG because I still like to wash, wax, & detail my own ride. I can do my dad’s 87 GMC Sierra in half the time it took to do my son’s 2010 Silverado. Now, Sonny Boy has come home with a 2015 Ford Platinum F150. I think it’s even bigger than the Silverado was.

My old 98 F150 daily driver has 238K on it and I may, just may, take a look at one of them yeller Buckin Broncs. What I really would like is a good condition Jeep CJ, but they’re hard to find.

You probably were behind the Sport model, they are the size of a new Escape. Big Broncos won't be out until at least July.

Yep, it said SPORT across the back. I didn't know they were a separate model.

Yeah you have the Sport which is essentially the baby Bronco and then the 2 door and 4 door full size Bronco. Sports came out back in late November but the full size got delayed until July of this year.

So how do you think the new Bronco compares to the 4Runner?

I think it has Toyota a little worried, especially when reading this on their website. They pretty much say get the 4runner if you like more standard features and less customizability with slightly more ground clearance and cargo space with a $10k higher base price. Toyota also compared the TRD Pro price to the First Edition of the Bronco which is a limited run that isn't going to be regularly available.

Re: Kinda the Blazer we wanted......

Here's a good article on the features of the new Bronco including: removable top on all models and available 7 speed manual with crawl low gear.
https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/n...crawlwrangler/

I'm not plugging the new Bronco at all and I'm not a "brand loyalist"...
just pointing out that historically Ford Motor Company is usually the innovator when it comes to what they used to advertise as "a better idea"...
Die hard Chevrolet fans wanted something like this in a "new Blazer" GM failed to deliver.

Ford is listening to their customers as well. Originally you couldn't get the manual 4cyl with the sasquatch package but enough people wanted it that they have made it an option for 2022.

I'm a fan of the old Blazers as well and the new Blazer is definitely a disappointment. Would be nice for GM to take notice to the new Broncos popularity and fix the Blazer.

I'm guessing most Toyota 4runner owners won't change over to Ford, but the Bronco may get a nice share of those getting into that niche for the first time.

We just got our 4R used last fall, so it will be a few years before I see if the legendary reliability is true for us.

I don't see either one as a real "trail" vehicle, even with all the stuff we got like crawl control.

If our local dealer would have had a 4r with the optional 3rd row seat we would have bought one, my wife and I are fans of them. I had a 2nd gen in high school and part of college, miss it.

We leave the 2nd row folded flat most of the time

Re: Kinda the Blazer we wanted......

.

Ford wins.

Unfortunately GM is convinced that all it needs to do is continue dumping money into marketing its existing products and their supposed quality.

That is why we have what they are calling the Blazer. It's merely a marketing ploy to move product. In this case the Blazer is nothing more than a generic GM vehicle with a catchy name and a massive marketing campaign promoting it.

This method of operation has been GMs goto revenue generating action since the 60/70s.

Ford is actually building something different, taking a bit of a chance on the Bronco. I think it is going to pay off for Ford and GM will continue to fade.

But then the big shots at GM would have to admit that they might have made a mistake on what "real" people want and how much they are willing to pay.

After all. They know better than us as they live in their bubble.

Seems like the only thing that GM builds that makes any half-way sense is the full size pickups.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they stop making white pickups pretty soon

Honestly, if I were going to drop that much money on a new vehicle, I would probably choose the Corvette over a pickup truck. The prices are ridiculous. I have the money and I have the credit score to afford one, but there are a lot of other things I would rather spend my money on. And I think GM has totally lost its way and Ford is crushing them. Even Chrysler/Dodge/Mercedes/Fiat/Stellantis (what???) is building more interesting products.

Oh, heck - I'm not buying new ones! I did buy a 4 year old pickup, and it was a "work truck" so not that much except more than I had ever paid before. So somebody has to buy the new ones and eat the depreciation.

Even then, a "work truck" package brand new is not so bad - well, really it's quite bad in the grand scheme of things, but about half what the fancy ones go for.

My neighbor said he paid about $75K for a GMC 2500 Duramax a couple years ago, and it's not even a long bed

I don't have the slightest use for a Corvette. I would have to rent a garage in town to keep it.
