I have a complete cross smember from a 74 C20, and I was wondering if there is any way to install the 5 or 6 lug C10 rotors on the C20 front end?

The only reason I would want to do this, is if I were to install a 3:08 rear end on my 63 C20. Pretty sure there are no C20 rear ends that are geared that high, so, if I wanted to do this it would require a rear end from a C10 or other vehicle.

At that point, you're probably better off going with a c10 front cross member. I don't know of a way to put the c10 rotors on the c20 spindles

Well, I don't think I will come across a deal on a C10 front end like I did with the one I got. Was just hoping that IF I did go with a 5-lug rear end, I could change the front easily.

Oh well... I guess I will stay with 8 lugs. Now I will need to find a T5 trans!

A 73-87 c10 complete front crossmember should be found for $50 without much effort.

Not in California! Anything out here that is related to classic cars or trucks is always over-priced, especially by private parties.
I would love to find one for $50!

The x-members are interchangeable. The difference is in the arms & supporting pieces that attach. The upper a-arm shaft will require the correct shaft for the x-member (for the correct sizing).

I have a 1/2 ton x-member under my R30 dually. I simply used the C30 bracing & the C30 dually arms + steering parts.

But.... The tire size makes a difference on final drive rpms. What size tires? 3.54 gearing might be possible on the HD 8-lug stuff & would be close to the desired 3.08 (which I feel would not be a good choice for a heavy truck).

Upper arms are the same it is the ball joint that is different. The upper bj bolts in. Lower arm is different b'cuz of the hole for the 3/4t Ball Joint that presses in. And of course the spindle itself is different due to the wheel bearing size.

OR it is all being scooped up and sold for scrap due to the 'environmental nazis' making the wrecking yards be as clean as hospitals. Everything has to under a roof and everything in the yard concreted. When the steel prices were up about 8-10 years ago there was an unprecedented amount of yard clean up. Everything was crushed and sent to china--didn't matter what it was. It was an opportunity to clean the yard AND clean up money wise at the same time----A LOT of good stuff was eliminated forever
