Yes really good short bed, cab has usual rust but decent also. This one is going to be low budget build, i have almost enough parts left over from my last build to put this one together. This is going to be daily driver/shop truck.

I like it! Can’t wait to see it come together. You plan on starting a new build thread for this one?

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC

Hey Marc, great build, I've gone through your build thread a few times. I just brought home my '56 and it sits in the garage as I try to start pulling it apart. I'm starting on the rear end and going to put a 4 link in and disc brake conversion. I was wondering why you chose the parallel setup vs the triangulated, and what disc brake conversion did you put on your rear end. Speaking of which, what is your diff? Looks like a GM 10 bolt 8.5". Thanks Wade

Thanks, the rear end is out of a S10 Blazer 4X4 and comes with disc brakes and 3:73 gears. Its not very strong rear end but for a cruiser its fine. Its a little bit narrow so i ended up relocating the calipers to a lower position on the backing plate so the would not touch the inner edge of the box. The 4link kit, i just went with what i could afford at the time,

Right I think I read that somewhere in your thread, my bad! I have a GM 10 bolt 8.5" so I'm keeping it, I'm going with an aftermarket brake set up from KMS Tools I think, closest and cheapest, states can be a bit of a delay these days and shipping expensive. As for the 4 link, I think I'm going to get the Welder Series. Thanks for your reply, I can only hope mine will be as half as good as your Jimmy!

Re: 55 2nd serie GMC

It's been a few years since last time I posted anything on here. Well the truck is still going strong, coming to 60000 miles since 2014 and enjoying it very much. I live in Manitoba central Canada so it seems I'm always on the hwy for long trips and this year is no different. Last month we drove 4500 miles to the east coast to visit family and friends. Next week we are off to the west coast (an other 4000 miles) has part of the Western Canada Power Tour to Medicine Hat Alberta then we continue to British Columbia for some relaxing time vacationing.
