Indeed...wouldn't it though. It would change everything for a bunch of people on Earth. It would simply confirm things for me however!

But...rather than a photo bombing little creature visible to the eye, I suspect such an occurrence would involve something much different. Think microbial, germ/bacteria like creatures that crawl onto the lens of the camera and stack themselves until they can be seen/detected. This is assuming they're intelligent, friendly and want to be detected! Otherwise they could simply get into the rover's mechanisms and gum them up or otherwise disable them.

Non intelligent life there wouldn't likely seek out recognition like that hence the need/want for the 2.7 Billion dollar SUV sized rover to go and hunt for them!

Exciting times nonetheless!
