Ya know... I can't honestly say that I've ever seen a "beater" 'Vette at a show or just rollin' around... it's like there's some rule that they're not allowed to leave the garage without 3 coats of wax

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

The beater Vette idea is great! I saw a guy at a carshow that had a Cobra kit he had been driving for a while in the gelcoat and had no intentions of painting it for a while.

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

You never saw my 1975 vett did Ya!
We had a 75, 454, convertable no power nothing except for the engine.
I never remember washing it and I wouldn't wax it. I hated that car. I never could get it to run right.
Traded it in on this one.
I liked this one...1982 crossfire fuel injected had 94000 miles on her when I sold it. The picture was when we had just drove 13hrs from the outerbanks to my parents house. That car was fun to drive.
I had a guy at a gas station to tell me that those little wheels on the trailer hadn't touched the ground in over 100 miles. Until we pulled into the station.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

See Ten, that baby looks great! Do you know the owner, or just random show pics?

Andy, my dad had an 82 or 83 firebird or TA, can't remember what it was, probably TA, but it had a cross fire intake in it. WEIRD looking intake/carb set up!

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

No idea who it belonged to...Just some shots from Nashville Goodguys.

I kinda skimmed around a few sites for a value on the vette. I found some "project" cars of similar vintage for under 20K...Also found a couple non original engine driver shape cars for less then 30K. If it turns out to be a matching #s big block car....I'm sure the price will go up.

Did you drop the big block in there or did the previous owner?

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

I just gotta say, I'm a fan of both of those. I'd pull the cap off that pickup and tow that vette right to my garage, kick the blazer out and put her in there.

OK, finally an update. The owner's son finally called me and here is the skinny…They have decided to try and sell the truck first. He said they want me to put it on the Des Moines, IA craigslist for $8000 or best offer. I went up and took some more pictures of the truck yesterday. As far as the Corvette the son said his dad told him he doesn't have a title for it…??? I suppose that is why it wasn't confiscated (that, and he hid it) The pickup is in the owners dads name. Anyway, he said if they can sell the truck fairly quickly they will keep the Corvette. That is how it stands right now.

I don't know how prices are in Iowa, but I would say it would be worth every penny of $8,000 here.

I like the way you think! lol I saw something at a car show in Kansas a few years back that would piss the 'Vette crowd off even more, it was a 70's Vette with a 351 under the hood and a Ford emblem on the back.

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

Ifhe wants a quick 8,000 I can give him that for the vette without the title as long as he signs a hold harmless if it turns out stolen so I don't wind up in jail. but I assume that won't happen.

Re: It may not make it to craigslist….

Nice rigs, both of them.I have a soft spot for the 63-67 vettes as a previous owner of 2 of them.I do know that the dash of that car I wish i had is not a 67 as they did not not have the passenger grab bar type dash.67 was flat --no hole to hang on to-------
