cleaning and inspecting open carrier

I,m rebuilding a ford 9 inch for my Blazer and took the cover off the open carrier to look at the gears and every thing looks nice inside from what I can tell. I,ve never done this before. The gears look good , no broken edges on the teeth. The pins have no slop in them, so I think I will leave them where they are. I was going to brush some varasol inside and clean them up and blow them out. Sound good or should I use something different other than varasol . Sorry the pic is flipped, using the cell phone

Re: cleaning and inspecting open carrier

Plain old brake parts cleaner has always worked good for me.
