Re: Well Im at it again..............

I have been contemplating buying those same seats as I thought they would look close to factory too!! Looks like I was right, they look sweet. I dont like the high back seats in the 1st generation blazers too, just look out of place.

Re: Well Im at it again..............

Well here are some up to date pics of progress around here. Got a nice back seat finally thanks to ScottishDave! It was originally brown, but I dyed it black, got the interior all cleaned up and put back together.

All the original carpet strips you see are usually crap, So I ended up finding a nice stainless piece at a yard sale for $3 that was meant to install on the front part of the bed, up by the cab. For the rear I used a 60-66 wood bed strip out of LMC. I also got a new Spid label made for the glovebox door.

I was hoping to have the Jimmy all put together and sold by now, but life happens and Murphy always shows up. So I am now gonna have to deal with getting the hard top back into shape.

I also painted the lockouts for the hubs as well, since they were a nasty looking yellow.

I also started the body work on the 67' again so that I can get it repainted and eventually sold.

Looks good, nice work on all of them. What paint did you use for the hubs? The blue turned out great.

Re: Well Im at it again..............

Back from the dead!

Man life has been busy! I actually got a weekend to myself, My brother and nieghbor came over and we got the blazer blocked out in 400, then wetsanded in 400, then wet sanded in 600. I dont have alot of room to spray everything at once, So I did the tailgate and the hood today.

With any luck I can get the blazer masked throughout the week between work, school, t-ball and life! I might be able to get some paint on the rest of the blazer, then I have to clean up some welds on the cage and get it painted. On the plus side I got a ton of shiny new parts to go on it.

Re: Well Im at it again..............

Yes I shot it in the garage, it wasnt ideal, but my painter buddy has a full shop. This is just going to be a wheeler, so I aint too concerned with a show quality job on this. I gotta block it down and buff it out to get rid of a little orange peel.

Re: Well Im at it again..............

I taped the attic access, all around the door on the garage side, on the other side of the door is our laundry room. I taped that side and the taped a plastic drop cloth over all that. Then turned on the fart fan in the laundry room and closed the other door leading out of there and the wife was fine with that

Re: Well Im at it again..............

Well I got a little bit done today. Got up early and got the passenger side wet sanded and buffed, I think i will hit it again though its still a little foggy, but no more orange peel. I still have to cut and buff the drivers side though.

I am not happy at all with the tailgate gaps, not quite sure how that happened, maybe when I cut out the bedsides to weld in the patches?

I am finding that I robbed a ton of small pieces off my blazer to finish the jimmy though. I am missing the litle L that goes on the back of the lock cylinder in the door and the retaining clip that holds the cylinder in the door. Also missing my factory radio cups and knobs

Re: Well Im at it again..............

Might seem a little off topic, but how the hell are you fitting your 67 or Jimmy in your garage, I am looking to lift mine with some bigger tires, but im scared because i want it to fit my garage so none of my friends mess with my truck while the top is off, and i was just wondering if you have a garage that is different or you just have a good ratio, lift:tire size. PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU ARE PULLING THIS OFF, because i am close to getting some goodies for my truck, and i like your style. LOL

Re: Well Im at it again..............

WOW I have been away from this for a while, I am sure I have a ton of pictures to update this. Plus I sold the 72 Jimmy to a guy in California. He flew in and drove it home! Then a couple weeks later he got ahold of me and asked if I wanted the motor back, he was having a shop install a new corvette crate engine!

So I had my brothers work arrange the shipping, and $112 later I had a fully dressed SBC strapped to a crate with everythin from air cleaner to oil pan, sparkplug wires and all the engine accessories!

I have also bought a 68 4wd shortbox chevy that is in pieces that will be under the knife soon.

We also moved to a new place with a 48x28 3 car garage and a 60x60 shop. The Blazer on 37s and the 67' with 6" lift and 35s fit in the garage just fine.
