1974 Stepside Filler Neck?

Anybody have a source for a stepside fill neck?
Dorman and Liland don't make one for a stepside.
Anybody using something else?

Re: 1974 Stepside Filler Neck?

I bought a right side filler hose for my 1976 stepside from https://www.classicheartbeat.com/

I think these are direct links:
Left side: https://www.classicheartbeat.com/pro...ller-hose-l-h/

Right side:https://www.classicheartbeat.com/product/belt/

I am looking for the steel fill neck the uses 3 phillips screws to hold it to the stepside fender that those rubber hoses fit onto.

I can't find any for a 74 either just fleetside stuff like in the link above.

How much difference is there between a stepside fill neck and a fleetside fill neck if anybody knows?

If it's just the pipe angle can i cut it off and weld new on?

Edit: The stepside takes a 41127 gas cap and the fleetside takes a 41128 so something is different?

They are a lot different. The stepside ones are really short compared to the fleetside and they do use a different cap

Re: 1974 Stepside Filler Neck?

Okay never heard from anyone so I ordered up a fleetside filler neck to modify it.

What are the differences.
The fleetside and the stepside are very similar except the fleetside is longer on the main line and the return line both. If you don't need the barb you can simply cut to length and install it as is. If you want/need the barb then you would have to section it and weld it back together.

The other difference is on the amount of protrusion from the fender. The fleetside protrudes half as much as the stepside does. This means the gas cap wants to make slight contact with the fender which you can live with or you can cut the attaching ring off and move it 1/4 inch and tack it back in place.
