headlight swap

Hey guys, Hope you can help me. I want to put the one piece headlight from a 94-98 chevy truck on to my 90 Suburban. How hard is the swap? I've seen a couple of burbs like that.

Re: headlight swap

the only prob is the 90 style is a little more angled then the 80 style so the headlights shine on the other side meaning the driver side shines on the pass side and vise versa, i only could tell in the fog because you could see the beams...lol it is a lot of work too!
I think some guys used the early model 87-88 monte carlo or the caprice

Re: headlight swap

ive seen people put the cavalier lights from the same era in them way back when these were new trucks. it was a one piece glass light with a high beam and a low beam side by side.

Re: headlight swap

I'm going to try some Caprice lights. Justpball is right, I dont want the lights to cross paths. I want the lights to be the same length as the parking lights so the cavilers lights might not work. Thanks guys for giving me suggestions.

Re: headlight swap

Yeah, Big V I would like to see some pics. As far as I said about lights crossing I meant the 94-98 chevy truck lights. Since those truck front in is not flat like the Suburban the lights are in a angle in the housing. If I install them flat on the Suburban the headlight beam would be facing in and would make them cross.

Re: headlight swap

YES, 87 celebrity are definately the best choice for this. I buy every set i can when i go to pick a part. the lights are glass lens, so you dont have to worry about your HID's discoloring the lens for one. for two, they are almost exactly the same size as 2 4x6 headlights put together, i have a set in my 80 monte carlo header panel and they fit nice there too. they are the flattest ones i could find and they work well into damn near anything. everybody down here wants "bulb" lenses n their frontends. should look nice, ive seen the 90 caprice ones in a 90 clip before and they made it work, but i think they were too big, looked like they cut quite a bit from the grille to make them fit.
the other thng about the celeb lights is that when you take them out, they are in their own lil basket with all the adjustment bs staying intact, and i thnk its one bolt and two studs with a c-clip holding them on, very easy to adapt to something else, just drill three holes and mount em up. im going by my pops place in a bit n ill get plenty pics of my header panel for you guys since its still off the car.

Re: headlight swap

Has anyone done this with the celebrity lights? I found a set at the junkyard and I'd like to do it to mine.
