Factory Air??
So I picked up another Squarebody (I think I have a problem) This makes 3.
Probably just going to flip this one. New balancer, alternator and a battery and it fired right up. This one has a 6 cylinder with A/C. I never saw an HVAC control panel like this one. It has a vacuum actuated shut off valve for the heater core. |

That is definitely not factory air. Factory air has the evaporator core mounted on the engine side of the firewall. It would look like this:

I was thinking maybe it was dealer installed. It has factory style vents in the dash too.
I forgot to mention that it works great. Blows ice cold. |

it blows cold because it restricts hot coolant flow across the interior heater core...

That's not factory. There have been a lot of aftermarket AC systems that came and went... This is likely one of those.

I have the same compressor and mount on my dad's 80 GMC.
But,with the under dash evaporator and controls The heater shut-off is universal and available in my parts books.(I used one on my 79 C-10.) I like your in dash controls! Mike.
