heater boxes

I have an a/c cab but wish to use the a/c box that goes into the engine bay area. I plan on buying vitage air or old air a/c units but finances are low right now. The a/c box is ruined by the PO and I have a non a/c unit for inside and out of the cab. Can thid be done with out cutting and welding?
