I used the new copper looking lines. They bend up pretty easy.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I'll probably go with stainless lines, my buddy got pretty good with all the hotrods he has done the last couple years. He's going to bring his bender over one afternoon and we can get them done

Looks very nice, Jason, although a bit lonely without the chubby block.

Nice! I'll vouch for John's work as well. He's local and I've met him a couple times. I got a hydraulic clutch setup from him and it too was top-notch. Please share your upcoming plumbing adventure with us!

Thanks Keith, when I get this thing back up and running again I hope to do some Wilwood big brakes on it. I figured while I had the CPP booster/master cylinder off to pull the engine I would go ahead and upgrade to the Wilwood setup. The booster I had on there was so big and stuck out from the firewall it was only about an inch from the valve cover. This is another one of those things that I hate to buy twice but I'm happy with the setup now!!!

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I bought an expansion module for my Dakota VHX dash so I could add the transmission temperature. Just want to let any of you guys know that have any of these "brain" boxes to be careful when plugging in the Aux port. As soon as I plugged mine in it broke, so i have been labeling wires to get it unhooked and sent back to Dakota for repair. I called them and they said it wouldn't be a problem to fix.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I also bent up some hard lines for the transmission cooler this weekend. I will put a section of braided stainless at the transmission for some flex also.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I finally have some good news and a little update on the ole truck. I got the motor back from the machine shop this morning and they said there very happy with how the block and crank turned out While I was there I had them install the new cam bearings also. I dropped it off at my buddies shop this evening so he should start reassembly this week, I still need to order a few things for him to get the bottom end buttoned up. Then while I was in the garage this evening the brown truck showed up with my box back from Dakota Digital, they fixed it and didn't charge me anything, defiantly a thumbs up for them!!!!

I called them and discussed what happened and they said just send it back and they'd take care of it. To me that kind of customer service means a lot now days.

Amazing build. Hate to see the issues you've had along the way, but it'll be worth it... especially with that healthy BBC!
