Blazer tailgate vs. Suburban

I searched and didn't find an answer, but are a Blazer and Suburban tailgate the same for any years?

A long time ago I had a '85 K5 and wanted to put the tailgate on my '79 Suburban but it wouldn't work. In my search I found a thread saying that Suburban tailgates are the same from '73-91 (relatively speaking) with the exception of trim and badging.

So I guess this says that, no, Blazers and Suburbans are and always have been different. Just looking for someone that has more experince with this than I do to confirm this.

Thanks.

Re: Blazer tailgate vs. Suburban

Unfortunately they are just a bit different. It`s because of the Blazer`s removable top.Even the supports(cables)are longer on the `Burb.
