my 70 lwb buildup from beyond

hey, i am new to this forum and have posted just a few times. thought it was time to clue people in on my project. i am currently in iraq. my father and brother are helping me do this buildup while i am gone. all progress has been made since i deployed.
i bought the truck on ebay about 2 months ago. it was a steal at $750 so i jumped on it without seeing it first. turns out it was in better shape than my family or i could believe. runs strong with no mechanical defects. body is in great shape also. after giving it a once over, we organized our build sheet.

starting at the heart of it all, we dug into the engine and tranny. the 350 engine seems to be fresh off a rebuild, but had stock intake with a weak 2 barrel carb. so i once again hit ebay and scored a holley 750 carb and edelbrock fuel pump for around 100 bucks. then ordered an edelbrock eps permastar intake. wow, its a piece of art. found some flame billet valve covers and air cleaner, once again on ebay for 40 bucks. plans are to paint them to match paint scheme. added a new dist. cap and some 8mm accel plug wires and it was in business. then moved on to the tranny only to find it wasnt catching the gears. unsure of the problem, i opted to buy a 2000 stall b and m converter, and scored a b&m z gate shifter off ebay, as my father said the shifter was in shambles. unfortunately these parts havent been installed yet, so progress has halted.
paint plans are silver base, with 3" black flames running along side it. pretty much goin stock with interior. solid black throughout. have plans for a custom console. exterior plans include a 2" front drop, custom bedcover, 2.5" turndown exhaust with xpipe and rally wheels. now, if i could just get home to start workin on this.
i included images of my families recent buildups to show our crudentials: 64 elco (dads), 68 elco (cousins), 56 pickup (brothers), 67 dart (my first classic) and 86 mustang (rest in peace)
