To my knowledge the manual crank handle parts interchange. The actual regulators are close if not the same. I looked at lots of K5 and sub gates when I needed a new regulator for my k5. Got lucky and found a k5 gate with the guts still in it.
Looking at many of both in the bonyards I'd have to say they are probably the same. if you want to confirm it for sure have the local chevy dealer run the part number for a K5 regulator and then a sub and see if the parts interchange. Or check a hollender interchange manual at the local boneyard.
