Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

Just wondering, I ran across a slider in my attic, which I think was from a '72. I kept it because it was nicer and fit the window opening better than most I had seen back in the 80's. Your thoughts?

Re: Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

Yes, sliding rear glass was a factory option. The latch was black plastic. These were actually installed after the end of assembly on the lot by vendors. They all used the standard no-trim window gasket after the standard window was removed

I've seen SPID's posted that had the slider listed.

One of my 72 K10's had it on the spid and had the trim.

It's on the SPID and it's factory installed. Just not installed on the assembly line. My '72 K2500 has a factory slider.

Re: Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

It seems they are always listed as first option. Am I right? I sure do see a lot listed first. A guy who worked building these trucks is who told me that little tidbit about the vendor installation on the lot.

Re: Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

Looks to me like the options are listed alpha-numerically left to right top to bottom.

Re: Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

What would you pay in the used market for a good cond. sliding rear window?

Re: Factory Rear Slider? Did it exist?

I paid 20 bucks for mine it's a "passport" brand. Not the nicest but perfect glass and slides smooth as ever. The frame is a little chewed up but not bad

I sold the one out of the '72 for $75 and that's what I've seen them go for...until recently. Now, with all parts, it's hard to tell if the prices have really jumped up in a short time or if it's just another profiteer figured they'll try to bump it up another notch or two.

I removed mine to install the one from my '71 Custom Camper that has an old faded era-correct Harley Davidson sticker.
