Hey everyone,

I'm new to this board, actually i have been lurking for a while but this is one of my first posts.
I am 14 years old and have just purchased a 1971 cheyenne 10 with all regular equipment and no A/C, no tach. truck has 67,000 original miles on it. it has a 350 crate motor that has 30,000 miles with a new edelbrock intake and 600 cfm edelbrock carb. it also sports newly rebuilt th350 transmission. The interior is completely redone with new dash, seat, door panels, headliner, etc. The person i bought it from was the original owner in 1971! it has good rubber and minor rust in rockers, lower doors, and one fender. it has the usual dents but nothing unfixable. Anyway i just wanted to say hi and this board seems very knowledgable and friendly.

Btw, I had to save every penny of my truck, i hate kids who's parents pay for anything they want, including vehicles.

welcome from a fellow 15 y/o 71 "cheyenne" owner, mine just started as a custom (both of them started as custom actually) hehe, i saved every penny from working two summers for both of mine to

i dont mean this as bad, but id have to question the 67K original miles.. if it had all that stuff new or rebuilt, i would think more like 167K

yeah blue 71

thats what i thoguht too, how could it be 67,000 and have the engine replaced. That would mean the original engine had 37,000 miles on it when he swapped it. but the friendly old fellow i bought it from gave me a exact history since it was new and how many miles it had when each thing happened. I can't really explain it myself but nothing on the truck shows major use/lots of miles so i am believing it right now. but i guess the actual mileage it not as important as actual condition. I just wanted to show off the mileage lol. Btw, i payed 2500 for it. don't really know if this was too great of a deal but i'm happy with it and thats all that matters i guess.

regardless of real mileage thats still a pretty good deal. i gave $600 for mine with "108K miles" but i think its more like 308K with as many problems as it had

Thanks guys,

Yes i am very pleased and excited about my truck, I had an older friend (mechanic) over to look at my "Project Truck" and he said "hmm, dosen't look like much of a project to me!" It is very solid but there is enough there to keep me busy especially since this is my first project.

Hey special 70 GMC,

what kind of quad do you ride? I love quads, currently i have a 91 honda trx 200. it's kinda down on power and has a heavy front end so gets kinda boring. I was going to buy either a 300ex or an old 250r but then i saw what 67-72 trucks looked like! Fell in love and bought my 71. k there's my story. lol
