Re: Project '86

Man I just found this thread about 2 hours ago and read it all in one sitting. Gotta say you have done some great fab work on your truck. Cant wait to see you finish it. I'm not much for the big wheels and laying frame bit(hot rod style is more me) but you have shown me that this can be done properly and well with well thought out mods. Thanks for the inspiration. I was just gonna skip for your top chop section but man I just had to see the rest.

Re: Project '86

Thanks guys

Tonight I started figuring out how to mount the uppers. Got them sitting in the right spot and I will figure out all the bracing later on. Hopefully I can tie it into the bag mount somehow.

Re: Project '86

Did you contemplate a wishbone locator or was it just space that dictated the Watts system?

Considered it but the customer isn't a fan of the looks of a wishbone.

Re: Project '86

I go away for a while and come back to see you've opened a shop and are kicking out some awesome stuff! I curious about the lower control arm, I'm a long way from any type of expert, but it looks like the arch created by the travel on the lower arm and upper arm are quite a bit different. Will this cause any serious issues with handling when the truck is aired all the way up or most of the way down when driving? Not a criticism by any means, I would like to know because that is just beautiful they way you have it all built.

Re: Project '86

The front suspension is set up exactly like a 74 camaro. The customer had used the camaro clip when he initially built the truck so I copied the geometry
