New to me 04 Yukon SLT

Just bought this for a daily driver. Unhooked battery to troubleshoot a window washer leak. When I reconnected battery the HVAC mode door quit. Finally got it fixed by unplugging and reconnecting the head unit. So how do I prevent this from happening again? Eventually I'm going to need to disconnect the battery to work on something.

Are you talking about the blend door? They are known for their issues. Mine would get stuck and wouldn't adjust unless the truck was turned off for a while. I actually never fixed it, just adapted. Get on the Tahoe-Yukon forum. A lot of good info there.

I had a 2000 nbs Tahoe and it was a great vehicle. Sold it a couple of years ago with 267k and its still going strong approaching the 300k mark.

Re: New to me 04 Yukon SLT

My issue was the mode door, which selects where the air blows. It's just above and inboard the gas pedal. The real issue was the BCM wouldn't complete whatever relearn process it goes through. Every time I turned the key ON the actuator would go through all the positions and then end up blowing air on the windshield.
