2015 Silverado LTZ Struts

Okay folks. It is time for some new Struts/Shocks for my 2015 Silverado LTZ 5.3. It has 108K miles on it. I plan on keeping this truck, probably forever, so I would like to get it back to factory or better ride quality. It is great shape so my plans are new tint, some ding and scratch repair, buff, to make it look new again.

This truck is my daily driver and the vehicle we take when driving out of town on short trips to the coast or hunting/fishing trips. I don't really load it down too heavy other than the occasional 1K pounds of corn or alphalpha. Usually chairs and canopy for baseball games is the norm.

There are lots of brands to choose from so I thought I would ask y'all if there were any to stay away from or any to choose in particular for whatever reason. I have some buddies that are managers of some shops but they sell Monroe. They recommend the Monroe Reflex as replacement part. I use to use the Monroe Sensitrak when I was younger with no issues. While I am at it my stabilizer bushings need replacing as well.

Any suggestions/comments?

Re: 2015 Silverado LTZ Struts

Rancho just isn’t what they used to be, so I would not use them.

Monroe, they’re decent. Nothing fancy, just okay.

KYB are hit or miss. They used to be great, especially for lowered trucks, but I started to see a decline in their quality.

Bilstein has always remained consistent and great shocks/struts. The 5100 or B8 will be what you want for your truck. Don’t shy away from “adjustable” because the range is usually from 0-3”, so you can have no adjustment and it will be stock height.

X2 on Bilstein. I use them on anything where the ride comfort matters.
