This is the passenger and drivers side. I didnt have to cut the frame at all. The headers came from ebay they are for swapping a 5.3 into a 67-72.

I am curiouse. I haven't read through the entire thread because of this crappy laptop. Why are you mounting the engine in the in-line 6 possition? You would have much more room if you moved it forward to the v-8 possition. WES

I probably will move it forward to the v8 mounts. I just set it in to see the clearances. The adapter plates are adjustable and I also dont want to have to worry about clearance issues with the twin electric fans and such. Plus the truck was a 6 cylinder I just never moved the mounts.

Thanks for the pictures. Do you see any problem running the engine that far back? Did you check your tranny angle to see if you were going to have any problems there?

Oh, I see. You will need a set of V-8 frame brackets. I think thatonce you move the motor forward, you will see that you will have even better clearances than you do now. There will also be lots of room for the electric fans. WES

Oh, I didnt realize that I'd have to have different frame brackets. I thought I could just move those forward to the next holes. The guy I talked to at Dirty Dingo said I would need to keep the 6 cylinder stuff for those adapters to work.

Re: barn find 67 c-10

OK, so last night I lifted the truck up on the lift if I moved the motor forward very far I think I would have clearance issues with the truck oil pan and crossmember. I dont see any problems with it in its current location so I'm going to try to leave it there.

Re: barn find 67 c-10

I need some suggestions on my truck. I'm using a gear box off of an 84 truck and a pump off of the 04 the motor came from. With the big stock steering wheel the power steering is WAY to easy. Any way to regulate the flow to the gear box?

I got the engine compartment all finished up last night. Just a little more wiring on the inside and it's done (or as done as they get)

Re: barn find 67 c-10

I hear you can take the fitting off an older pump and remove the one off your 5.3 pump and swap them out, and that cuts the flow/pressure going to the box. I have the newer pump with original fitting for 5.3 also. Power steering is one finger easy in parking lots at low speed.

She looks good. I would love to have a 67-72 someday. That would complete my set of C-10's.

I got to put some miles on the ole girl today. I drove her to work which is about 70 miles. She did GREAT!!! The 5.3 is plenty of power with the computer tune it has. Brendan at LT1swap.com was great!! I HIGHLY recommend him. This i pic of her "in the weeds"
