Re: Another blazer build in alaska....75 454 K5

I purchased the blazer minus the motor, so here is a picture of a donor truck of mine that is getting the factory 454 removed and installed in the K5,

Brother's looks like they have the factory seat covers and ACC for the correct carpet. Very interesting truck. I don't think I've seen a woodgrain tailgate band before. What does the badge on the top right of the tailgate say?

Check with these people. They seem to have a good line of oem style seat covers.

Re: Another blazer build in alaska....75 454 K5

Started to get some of the correct interior back in it

Also located another dealer installed 8-track/CB that matches my dads 76 dually,
Dad had the same one put in the dually at the dealer (Walker Chevrolet) in fall of 75 when he picked the dually up in seattle

Not the factory radio, allthough like I said i have the identical one in my dually and my dad had it installed at the dealer when he picked the truck up in fall of 75
interesting that it sure looks factory with the volume and tuning knobs are excactly the same as the light switch, and the font on the radio matches the font on the instrument cluster/gages.

Re: Another blazer build in alaska....75 454 K5

Well got a few more parts yesterday, complete window tracks and glass, wing windows out of a 90 suburb, currently the windows roll up terrible, and the wings are all dry rot in the rubber, was going to intall last night, but something else came in the mail
My 77 anniversary trim tape, the color is almost a dead match, took me a long time to locate it, and a lot less time comsuming than masking off the moldings and painting them,(i also got the color in a spray can) to me its gets no better than the 77 molding, and i love the way it compliments white and black trucks. so took bout an hour to get it on there and I think it looks trick, Now I got the looks of the 77 but with the complete convert. top
Once installed all I had to do was remove the clear protectant on the pinstripe tape and the extra dark gold stripe, to leave me with the 77 gold only

Re: Another blazer build in alaska....75 454 K5

Well made a few changes to the blazer, I located a 77 k5 that belonged new to a local dragracer in the 70's, Ithad all the custom Jackson velvet tuck-n-roll from the top to the bottom, and it was in immaculant shape so i purchased the whole blazer and pulled all my stock out and put in all the custom in mine, It all worked and fit like a glove despite the large door panels from the 77, so far i had the pockets shortened to fit the 76 panel Three of our trucks have the same interior in them, so it was just a right fit for reassuring my 70's theme, also removed the Weld draglites and got back to where it all started a set of polished "real centerline"autodrag's a super hard find, but they look great a little polish an they were on and they look trick

Looks good! Add a bullbar with a pair of KC Highlites and you'll be in the home stretch.
